japanese arcades :D

The one thing you have to do when you go to japan is the arcades, if you don't you wont see anything like this in the states....the little kids have the fun video games, teenagers have this semi-vending machines...there hard to do i'll post video of it sometime, and the adults have pachinko...its a addicting gambling game for adults. The one thing about this place its addicting. You can play for hours on only a hundred yen apiece. But i would wait till the yen rate is better.

the best fish tempura!

One of my many favorite restaurants on island is actually a local Okinawan restaurant conjoined with a fish market! It's amazing, they provide the best produce, fish, drinks, you name it.  Though the main customers are Okinawan there is the occasional Americans, so they do have an English menu! The food on the menu are made from the ingredients they serve are from the market place next door. I recommend the sushi platter, tempura (shown above), the lobster set (its cheaper during the week), and The Fish and herb soup. The exact directions of this place is hard to come by, but I will soon put a post about the directions. And hope fully you will come to enjoy  this local favorite!

watermelon pinata

Hello World,
We were recently invited to dinner out in town with my Nanay's friends family. It was a gorgeous night out on the balcony of house. The tables were filled with food, for example okinawa soba, sushi, rice, etc. It was never a dull moment in the house.

The brother-in-law of my mom's friend brought out cardboards, towels wrapped around in a circle, and a water melon. It made me question what they were about to do with the water melon but once the wooden stick was brought out it all made sense.

Oba-san watching her children play "PINATA"

the object of the game is to hit the watermelon blindfolded you only get one chance of hitting it
\

that is my first post...more to come surely.

love,
janine
